ITW Gema’s Magic Cylinder is the original round-booth design, offering quick color changes and simple cleaning for automatic coating applications in XTreme Color Change Environments.

The vertical gun arrangement achieves extremely high coating efficiency.

Different installations, configured to your requirements.

Quick, easy, and efficient–the Chameleon Color Management System automates much of the cleaning process.

Color change got you down?

When inventory-management issues are pressuring you to finish your parts in shorter and shorter productions runs, then you need a powder coating system that maximizes production uptime by changing colors in a quick and efficient method; You need the Magic Cylinder® powder coating system.

The Magic Cylinder is designed for automatic coating environments with XTreme Color Change requirements. By specializing in automatic coating, fewer manual coating stations are required – which keeps the booth’s footprint small. Should limited manual reinforcement be required, coating stations can be added to the booth cabin allowing operators to effectively apply the powder to your products.

Magic Cylinder is field-proven technology that is capable of meeting the needs of your rapidly changing manufacturing environment. The Magic Cylinder is designed to be a fully integrated system that delivers the speed and flexibility needed to handle the frequent color changes of your operation.

The 15-minute color change

The Magic Cylinder is a cleaning-friendly, quick color change system. This is due to its compact, cylindrical interior, which operates without an expensive or complicated cleaning mechanism. By integrating the Chameleon™ Color Management System, much of the cleaning process is automated and guarantees the highest quality color change. After a short learning period, color changes can be consistently carried out in under 15 minutes with only two technicians.

Built for XTreme Color Change Environments

You've never seen anything like the Magic Cylinder Powder Coating Systems, because there's never been anything like it. Here's why it's different:

1. The round plastic booth, with optional touch-up stations, is designed to minimize powder accumulation in the booth cabin and facilitate a faster changeover from one color to the next. Easy-access design allows an operator to quickly perform the simplified manual cleaning procedures from outside the booth cabin.

2. Along with the seamless, sandwich-wall booth cabin construction, the high-tech, seamless ductwork substantially minimizes the risk of color contamination, requiring no cleaning and is maintenance free. Magic Cylinder’s advanced mono-cyclone has a built-in sieve that screens out contaminates, making clean-up a snap. The unit also utilizes dense-phase transport technology for improved material handling.

3. In conjunction with the Magic Cylinder, the integrated Chameleon Color Management System uses PLC intelligence to automate cleaning by pulsing compressed air over the gun exterior and throughout the powder path, including suction tubes, pumps, powder hose and gun. This process cleans so effectively that color contamination is virtually eliminated. The Chameleon also improves performance by allowing powder to be sprayed directly from the powder manufacturer’s original shipping container. This minimizes the number of hoppers and dedicated equipment typically required to reclaim powder.

4. With a focus on automatic applications, Magic Cylinder incorporates the newest in application powder control; OptiSystem™ powder coating equipment. OptiSystem offers individually programmable coating parameters generating reproducible, uniform coating results at all times.
